We encourage members to get involved with one of the committees and have a direct impact on Beef Plan Policy. The different committees are listed below.

Emerald Isle Beef Producer Organisation is the Producer Organisation associated with Beef Plan. Emerald Isle Beef Producer Organisation has done a huge amount of work in getting consistently higher prices for farmers with meat processors and created other alternatives such as live exports and new markets for specialist meat products. Beef Plan is a voluntary,
not for profit organisation

Beef Plan is a movement and associated plan put together by farmers for farmers. For years farmers profits have been eaten into by beef processors and retailers and as a result beef farming in Ireland is on its knees. This plan was born in the hope of saving and rejuvenating beef farming in Ireland before its too late.

The plan’s objectives centre around the following:

  1. Regaining control of an animal from birth to slaughter and
    beyond;
  2. Returning a cost of production price plus a margin as a
    minimum; and
  3. Regaining respect within the beef industry.
